Medallion Suites are 50 percent wider than a standard veranda suite and also have a larger balcony. Enhanced technology means noise and vibrations from the engine room on this first Nova-class vessel are no longer an issue, allowing latitude in the placement of suites and public spaces. Employing asymmetrical design, Silver Nova confines accommodations to the front of the ship and entertainment spaces to the back of the vessel. Lab, where guests partake in hands-on cooking demos, now has the most spectacular test kitchen aboard Nova, relocated to Deck 10 and with a raised ceiling plus a wall of windows for the view. The space has a second use, serving an 11-course S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table dining experience, focused even more tightly on cuisines of the sailing itinerary, procuring specialty items and sharing the stories behind them. The line's first expedition Grand Voyage in 2024 is a 125-day cruise on Silver Wind, sailing from the South Pole to the North Pole, offering the best of both Antarctica and the Arctic. Because of the horizontal design we talked about on our first day, the ship’s new layout means that, for the first time for Silversea, there are larger suites with an aft view – which is incredibly popular.
